Yellow-vented Bulbul | Pycnonotus goiavier | Leuser Ecosystem

Merbah cerukcuk adalah sejenis burung pengicau dari suku Pycnonotidae. Orang Sunda menyebutnya cerukcuk atau jogjog, orang Jawa menyebut terucuk atau cerocokan, mengikuti bunyi suaranya yang khas. Dalam bahasa Inggris disebut Yellow-vented Bulbul.

Burung yang berukuran sedang, panjang tubuh total (diukur dari ujung paruh hingga ujung ekor) sekitar 20 cm. Sisi atas tubuh (punggung, ekor) berwarna coklat kelabu gelap, sisi bawah (tenggorokan, dada dan perut) putih kusam.

Mahkota kehitaman, alis dan sekitar mata putih, dengan kekang (garis di depan mata) hitam. Sisi lambung dengan coretan-coretan coklat, dan penutup pantat berwarna kuning. Iris mata berwarna coklat, paruh hitam dan kaki abu-abu merah jambu.

Alter the Bulbul is a kind of tribal Pycnonotidae warbler. Sundanese people call Bulbul or jogjog, the Javanese call terucuk or cerocokan, following the typical sound of his voice. In English called the Yellow-vented Bulbul.

Medium-sized birds, the total body length (measured from tip of beak to tip of tail) approximately 20 cm. The upper side of the body (back, tail) dark gray brown, lower side (throat, chest and abdomen) dull white. Black crown, white eyebrows and around the eyes, with a bridle (line in sight) black. Side of the hull with graffiti brown, and yellow rump cover. Iris brown, black beak and feet gray pink.
