I have not been accomplished for trekking to Gunung Leuser because the terrain is quite heavy and long. Ideally for trekking may take up to one week more.

There are several destinations in Gayo Lues interesting place to visit, where within a week we can enjoy unspoilt nature. Some of these destinations I will explain below.

1. Kedah Gate Leuser

Is the closest gateway to the Gunung Leuser National Park. Kedah which is rain forest that still maintained its authenticity, because the location is close to Gunung Leuser National Park. Here, if lucky on trekking, you can see various animals such as orangutans, tigers, leopards, black gibbon, gibbons, wild apes, rare bird species and many more. When I was trekking through the rain forest in Kedah, only runs for 1 hour traveling alone I encounter orangutans are building nests. Lucky I bring a telephoto lens so they can clearly see the orangutans are young and it turns out they are very shy when humans meet.

From a distance I just heard the sound of black gibbon ape big black. Too bad they are away on another hill so we had no chance to see them and just hear his voice. When tracing the road step by step in the middle of the forest, we occasionally encounter gibbons and langurs. If you want maximum enjoy the wildlife in Kedah is indeed ideally 2 to 3 days here.
